If you have been anywhere near a TV or social media website in the last 2 weeks, you would've heard about Selena Gomez's inspiration speech at the American Music Awards. I thought she was so brave and inspirational, but through all of it, I couldn't help but notice her darker natural eyeshadow look with a nude lip! I decided to give it a go, but keep in mind that I am in no way a professional! After moisturising with my Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Day Cream and my Swisse Argan Anti-Aging Eye Cream, I prime with the Benefit Porefessional and the Benefit 15-Hour Stay Flawless Primer. Then I use the Napoleon Perdis Pro Makeup Sponge to blend my Covergirl Clean Concealer under my eyes and over any blemishes. Using the same sponge, I apply and blend my Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. To set my foundation, I stipple on the Savvy Mineral Loose Powder using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Then using the same Real Techniques brush and my Nars Ita Brush, I apply some Models Prefer Soft Touch Mineral Powder in Radiant Bronze around my cheekbones and temples to add some colour. Using the same brush, I apply Essence Soft Touch Blush in Babydoll (similar here). I find this colour to be the perfect natural blush colour. Using an angled brush and the Essence Eyebrow Stylist Set in Natural Blonde, I softly fill in my eyebrows. In her look, Selena has quite natural, but still dark, brushed out eyebrows. Now to start on the eyes! Using my concealer as a eyeshadow primer, I brush "light" all over my lid. Using a fluffy blush, I sweep "individual" in my crease then blend out when I feel happy with the colour. Afterwards, I sweep "individual" and "heart" over the centre part of my eyelid. Now time for my favourite part: the glitter! Using "affection", I apply the shade over the centre part of lid, blending out any harsh lines of needed. To finish off the eyeshadow, I use a thin eyeshadow brush and line my upper lash line and with "being," then brush "affection" and "individual" along my lower lash line. I apply a quick coat of Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in black to my top and bottom lashes. To get the full eyelash look that Selena had, you could easily apply false lashes. Instead, I applied a few layers of mascara to produce some volume. Using my fan brush, I brushed any fallout off my face then applied highlighter! I recently purchased an Essence eyeshadow from a limited edition collection. After realising it didn't work too great as an eyeshadow, I tried it as a highlighter. It gives off a really nice light glow on the skin. The finishing touch on this makeup look is the nude glossy lip. I used the NYX Lip Lingerie in Baby Doll to get the colour and the Napoleon lipgloss in Cherish to get the glossy finish. And thats it! Obviously, I am not a makeup professional, but I do love to try! Hope you enjoyed!
