Hello! Today I am posting a post I have wanted to post for a while now, and that is a travel related blog post! About 3 or 4 months ago now, I arrived back from 2 and a half weeks of travel in South Africa! I went back mainly to visit family but actually ended up seeing a lot of places I hadn't seen before! I hope you enjoy this post about my travel beauty essentials, outfit inspiration for swapping between seasons and my Cape Town travel diary!
Travel Beauty Essentials
If there is one thing that drives me crazy about travelling, its trying to squeeze everything in my suitcase and the crazy limits on liquids! The picture below has all of my essentials that I took with me!
Firstly, Lucas Paw Paw Ointment. This stuff is an absolute lifesaver! It has been a staple in my beauty routine for years as it helps heal chapped lips and dry skin. After the lengthy plane trip and change in climate, this stuff is an essential. My Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer was perfect for travelling and long makeup days. This product made my makeup last through walks in gardens, endless shopping trips and playtime with my little cousins! Concealer is a must for travel! After plane trips and disturbed sleep schedules, the bags under my eyes were darker than ever. My L'Oreal True Match Concealer was really great as it has a nice coverage, especially over red spots, and is super blendable. When packing a travel makeup bag, the last thing you want is a huge makeup bag crammed full of products, especially when you don't get around to using everything! This is why everyone should have the perfect nude lipstick, such as the Essence Lipstick in Barely There. This shade is perfect for dressing up or down and is super versatile. When it comes to the rules and regulations about liquids, shampoos are the most annoying! Thats why I took along my Lush Shampoo bar! It is small and solid, so there is no need to worry about decanting into a smaller bottle. Now all we need is a conditioner bar! If anybody knows of one, please let me know! Due to the fact that I am not a very big makeup wipe user, travelling with a bottle of makeup remover AND a cleaner can get quite annoying, so the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil is PERFECT! It removes makeup, even mascara, and cleanses, all in one. It is great for all skin types as it is super gentle. Season Swapping Outfits
When travelling, especially between countries, packing outfits that are versatile is a must! I've put together a few outfits that can swap between seasons really easily!
I really love this first outfit! It is a little pinafore dress that looks so lovely with a stripy shirt underneath! This outfit os so great for hopping between seasons as it can easily be paired with a long sleeve shirt, a chic leather jacket or even some tights.
This second outfit is also really cute. It is a little bit summery but can still be paired with a cute jacket to warm it up. Alternatively, you could wear a nice pair of boots to suit the chilly days.
This outfit is probably my favourite for just a casual day out. I love the pairing of comfy looking jeans and a plain graphic tee. Paired with a cute, plain mani with a bit of sparkle and a simple pair of flats, this outfit is perfect for reading a good book in a cosy coffee shop.
Cape Town Travel Diary
In February, I was lucky enough to take a two week trip to Cape Town, South Africa. I was actually born there, and the main reason for our visit was to see family. I had such an amazing time in quite possibly the most beautiful town in the world. I thought I would share some pictures and snippets of info as I really enjoy reading travel related blog posts.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading.
